ITINERARY
Today marks the beginning of your pilgrimage as you embark on an overnight flight to Rome. You can rest assured that all the necessary preparations for your journey have been taken care of. Now, sit back, relax, and enjoy your flight. Your spiritual journey starts here!
Upon our arrival in the enchanting city of Rome, we will make our way from the airport to our hotel, where we can unwind and acclimate to our new surroundings. Take the evening to enjoy a delightful welcome dinner, get to know your fellow pilgrims, and get a good night’s rest at your hotel.
Our day starts with a captivating papal audience with Pope Francis. Next, we explore the Vatican Museums, marveling at masterpieces by Michelangelo, including the Pieta and the Sistine Chapel. We then visit the stunning St. Peter’s Basilica, built over St. Peter’s resting place, followed by a tour of the newly discovered necropolis. We end the day with a delightful dinner and a restful night at the hotel.
We start at the Basilica of St. Mary Major, home to a relic from the manger. Then, we visit the Scala Sancta, the sacred stairs Christ climbed, followed by the Basilica of St. John Lateran and St. Paul Outside the Walls, which contains a relic of St. Paul the Apostle. We’ll also stop at the Church of Domine Quo Vadis, where Christ is said to have appeared to Peter. Finally, we’ll explore the catacombs, where early Christians worshipped and were buried. Afterward, we return to our hotel for dinner and overnight accommodations.
Traveling south through the stunning Italian countryside, we admire vineyards, orchards, and olive groves. The beautiful hills lead us to Monte Cassino, founded by St. Benedict in 529, and then to San Giovanni Rotondo, the birthplace of St. Padre Pio. The day ends with a lovely dinner and a relaxing overnight stay at the hotel.
We attend mass at St. Padre Pio’s resting place, tour the sanctuary, and visit the crucifix where he received the stigmata. We offer prayers before his preserved body and enjoy a beautiful view of the Gargano Peninsula on our way to the Grotto of Michael the Archangel. Our day concludes with a lovely dinner and a restful night at the hotel.
We journey to Lanciano to explore the Church of St. Longinus, where a Eucharistic miracle occurred. We are awestruck by the miracle and participate in a Mass before continuing to the Holy House of Nazareth, the very place where Mary first prayed the Magnificat and the Madonna of Loreto. Our adventure continues as we embark on an overnight ferry from Ancona, Italy, to Split, Croatia, where we will enjoy dinner and spend the night on board.
Upon your arrival this morning, you will be warmly welcomed by a knowledgeable tour guide and/or driver who will accompany you on a scenic drive to the charming village of Medjugorje. Take in the picturesque views along the way before indulging in a delightful dinner. Afterward, you can look forward to a comfortable overnight stay at your hotel.
During your time in Medjugorje, you will have the chance to deepen your faith and join pilgrims from around the globe on their spiritual journey. You can participate in Mass and hike up Apparition Hill, the site where the visionaries first saw Our Lady. You can also visit the Blue Cross at the hill’s base, where it’s believed that Our Lady appeared to the children while they were hiding from the communist police in the early days of the alleged apparitions. After a day filled with spiritual experiences, you can enjoy dinner and spend the night at your hotel.
Our pilgrimage comes to a close today as we transfer to the airport to catch our return flight home.
