In Istanbul, once Constantinople, pilgrims reflect on the early Church and the legacy of Eastern Christianity, while Cappadocia invites prayer among ancient cave churches and underground cities where the first Christians worshiped in faith and perseverance. ITINERARY
Your pilgrimage journey commences today with your flight to Istanbul. Onboard, a selection of food and beverages will be provided for your comfort.
Upon arrival in Istanbul, you will be welcomed by our local coordinator and driver who will guide you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to explore the surrounding area on a pleasant walk. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be provided at the hotel.
Start your day at the historic Spice Bazaar, established by the Ottomans five centuries ago, and enjoy its vibrant atmosphere. Next, take a scenic boat ride through the Bosphorus Strait for stunning views of the Sultans’ palaces. In the afternoon, explore the bustling Grand Bazaar with around four thousand shops. After a fulfilling day, return to your hotel for dinner and overnight accommodations.
This day focuses on exploring Istanbul’s historic sites, including the stunning Hagia Sophia and a tour of Topkapi Palace, home to Ottoman sultans, with access to the Harem. Lunch is at a local restaurant in Sultanahmet (at your own expense). The tour also includes the Blue Mosque and the Hippodrome, featuring the Obelisk of Theodosius, the Serpentine Column, and the Emperor William Fountain. Dinner and overnight stay will be at your hotel.
Today, you will depart for the airport to catch a domestic flight to Cappadocia. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to your hotel. Tonight, a special dinner has been arranged for you, and overnight accommodations will be at the hotel.
Experience a breathtaking hot air balloon ride over the stunning landscapes of Cappadocia this morning. The afternoon is yours to explore Cappadocia at your leisure. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be available at your hotel.
Discover the unique landscapes of Cappadocia in a full day. Visit the 7th-century Gumusler underground monastery with its stunning Byzantine frescoes, explore Kaymakli underground city, and enjoy panoramic views from Uchisar rock fortress. Don’t miss the Goreme Valley’s open-air museum, showcasing rock-carved churches and the iconic “Fairy Chimneys.” Dinner and overnight accommodations are at your hotel.
Your journey continues with a visit to Urgup, renowned for its winemaking and picturesque vineyards. After capturing memorable photos, you will travel back to Istanbul for dinner and overnight accommodations at your hotel.
On the final day of your pilgrimage, you will head to the airport to board your flight back to the United States, concluding your enriching travel experience.
