PILGRIMAGE

ABOUT YOUR TRIP

Embark on a soul-enriching 10-day pilgrimage to Brazil and Argentina, delving into the vibrant spirituality of Rio de Janeiro, the cultural richness of Buenos Aires, and beyond. Discover sacred sites, embrace diverse traditions, and deepen your faith on this transformative journey.

During the Pope Francis Pilgrimage tour, members of the religious orders will give insight into Pope Francis’s life. In addition, talks will be delivered on Argentina’s history and the church’s role in its culture and society. We will visit Buenos Aires, Colonia De Uruguay and San Nicolas.

From balmy subtropical reaches in the north to the frosty Antarctic shores of the Patagonian south, Argentina is one of the world’s most geographically diverse countries. Its kaleidoscope of landscapes offers endless adventure and leisure opportunities, and this natural variety – coupled with its warm, animated locals, delectable carnivorous cuisine, and fascinating history – makes it a captivating and unforgettable travel destination.

Our pilgrimages come with spiritually rich itineraries, round-trip airfare, first-class hotel accommodations, breakfast, dinner, all transportation, and daily Masses,  all under Nativity’s excellent organization and leadership.

We will then take another cable car to 395 meters, with views of Copacabana beach and the Santa Cruz fortress.

Next, we will drive through the Laranjeiras residential district and Cosme Velho. We will then take the cogwheel train for a 15-minute ride up the hill to the statue’s base. Once there, at an elevation of 2,400 feet, you will marvel at the sculpture’s outstretched arms and unbelievable panoramic view of the city. Next, we will visit Rio’s Historical area, including the Metropolitan Cathedral. Finally, we will depart Rio de Janeiro and travel to Aparecida for the evening.

Today: After breakfast, we will take a city tour of Aparecida. The Basilica of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Aparecida is a prominent Roman Rite Catholic Basilica dedicated to Our Lady of Aparecida as the principal Patroness of Brazil. It is the second largest church in the world in terms of total interior area, after St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. We will tour the Sanctuary of Aparecida, and then we will visit Puerto Iguacu, where the image of our Lady was found in 1717. This afternoon, we’ll continue our journey as we make our way to the Sao Paulo airport and board our flight to Iguassu Falls.

After our tour, you will return to your hotel.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at your hotel.

Today: After breakfast, we will visit Iguazu Falls on the border of Argentina and Brazil. Both sides are designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites and are considered some of the most fascinating wonders of the entire continent. Next, we’ll visit the institutions where he was educated, like the College of Our Lady of Mercy and Universidad Del Salvador, a Jesuit university. Next is the Basilica of San José de Flores, where he devoted his life to God when he was just 17 years old. In addition to educational and religious sites, we’ll visit the San Lorenzo de Almagro Athletic Club, where you’ll learn about the pope’s love of football (soccer). Afterward, we’ll continue to the San Ignacio de Loyola Church and then to the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral, which overlooks Plaza de Mayo.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at your hotel.

Today: After breakfast, we’ll take a boat ride north to Tigre and visit the Parana Delta and Waterway. Our first stop is the colonial town established by the Jesuits of San Isidro. We will celebrate mass in the spectacular cathedral of San Isidro, built in 1706 by French architects and opened by Captain Domingo de Acassuso, the city’s founder. Heading to Tigre, we will travel through the vast delta and waterway, winding through the interconnecting rivers and streams. You can view the many English-style rowing clubs, marinas, and elegant mansions. We will attend the award-winning Tango Dinner show, Los Angelitos, this evening.

Evening: Overnight accommodations will be in Buenos Aires.

Today: We board a luxury coach and travel to Rosario to visit San Nicolas, a famous Marian Shrine. Here, an ordinary housewife, Gladys Quiroga, who had no formal education and no knowledge of the Bible or theology, was visited by the Blessed Mother daily for over six years. She also received 68 messages from Jesus Christ. Numerous healings, including the cure of a boy with a brain tumor, have been documented at this site. Specific messages led to the discovery and restoration of the veneration of a long-neglected statue of a Madonna carrying the Christ Child. We will be given a guided tour and lecture on the site by Sister Veronica and participate in the mass celebration. Afterward, you will have plenty of time to appreciate this magnificent Basilica dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodations will be on the Ranch.

Today: This morning, after breakfast, we will visit Lujan Cathedral, built in honor of the Virgin of Lujan, the patron saint of Argentina. It is here that more than six million pilgrims would travel each year, some over 40 miles, to be blessed by Pope Francis. The Virgin of Lujan is very important to Pope Francis, and a replica can also be displayed at the Vatican. After celebrating Mass at the Lujan Cathedral, we will go to the airport to catch our return flight home.
