ITINERARY

Your pilgrimage begins today as you board your overnight flight to Budapest. Meals & beverages will be served on board.

Upon arrival in Budapest, you will meet your tour guide and take a panoramic tour of the city, driving past City Park, Europe’s largest thermal spa, the Budapest Zoo, and Heroes’ Square. Next, we will take Andrássy Avenue downtown, passing by the Opera House and St Stephen’s Basilica, where we will celebrate Mass. Afterward, we will embark on the beautiful Amadeus Star cruise ship, our home for the next seven nights. Settle into your comfortable cabin, unpack, and join us tonight for a welcome cocktail reception in the lounge. Afterward, we’ll experience a Hungarian Folklore Show and a wonderful dinner with local wines. Following dinner, we will head out to the deck and enjoy warm mulled wine as we take a panoramic Budapest Night Cruise. Overnight accommodations will be on board.

After breakfast, we will head out to explore Budapest! Starting at the Chain Bridge, we will drive to the Buda side of the city, stopping in the Castle District, where we’ll see the city’s main attractions. We will walk to the Matthias Church and the Fishermen’s Bastion. Next, we will tour Gellért Hill (Citadel), where we hear a brief overview of the last 1000 years of Hungarian history. Next, we will drive through the beautiful countryside to the village of Szentendre, where you are free to have lunch, explore, shop, or enjoy a coffee and pastry in one of the many local cafes. Next, we will continue to Esztergom Cathedral and celebrate Mass. Our ship awaits us in Esztergom for an 8:00 P.M. departure. Dinner and overnight on board the cruise.

Today, we will arrive in Bratislava, the capital of the Slovak Republic. Following breakfast, we will have a morning retreat. After lunch (on the ship), we will celebrate Mass at St. Martin’s Cathedral, the coronation site of Hungarian Kings. We will have time to explore the city before returning to the ship, which sets sail at 11:00 P.M.

We will wake up in the beautiful city of Vienna. After breakfast, we will explore Austria’s most vibrant city, taking in sites like Vienna’s world-famous Opera House, Town Hall, Hapsburg Imperial Palace, and more. We will walk to St. Stephen’s Cathedral in the Main Square and see where the Vienna Boys Choir performs. Next, we will celebrate Mass at the magnificent Votive Cathedral, followed by free time to explore independently. Be sure to stop by the world-famous hotel Sacher for a piece of Sacher cake, a Viennese delicacy. You’re free to stay in town for lunch on your own, visit one of the many museums, or return to the ship for lunch.

**Day Option** Schonbrunn tour is $44.00. Due to the schedule, lunch on the ship is not included. Lunch on your own may be purchased in Vienna.

**Night Option** Following an early dinner, you may head back to Vienna for a classical music concert.

This morning at 8:00 A.M., we dock in Durenstein, a lovely wine village in the magnificent Wachau Valley and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will sail through passing lush vineyards, fairy tale castles, and ancient monasteries. The village of Durenstein is in the center of Austria’s wine country. Walk to the town and explore on your own or stay on the ship for a wine seminar just before lunch. Following lunch, we disembark in Melk for a visit to the beautiful Melk Benedictine Abbey! Our guided tour includes a tour of the Library, the Abbey, and the Church where we will celebrate Mass. We depart Melk at 7:00 P.M. and enjoy a relaxing dinner on board the ship, followed by drinks and music in the lounge. Overnight on the ship.

Enjoy an early breakfast before boarding our touring vehicle and traveling to Salzburg, known for the beloved “Sound of Music” and Mozart’s birthplace. We will celebrate Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Maria Plain, a 17th-century hilltop shrine overlooking Salzburg. The shrine became a Minor Basilica in 1952 and was visited by Pope John Paul II in 1983. We will take a walking tour, visit the Basilica, stroll along the Getreidegasse, see the house where Mozart was born, and take in many familiar sights from the “Sound of Music.” Our religious exploration of Salzburg will include Nonnberg, believed to be the oldest nunnery in existence, founded by St. Rupert in the 8th century. Next, we will visit the Benedictine Abbey of St. Peter, also founded by St. Rupert. As we walk around, enjoy views of the beautiful 17th-century churches and quaint houses. After our tour, we will board our ship in Passau and have dinner, followed by music in the lounge. Overnight on the cruise.

Today, we set out to explore the wonderful city of Regensburg, one of Germany’s best-preserved medieval cities famous for its sausage-making.  Regensburg is also where Pope Benedict grew up, studied, and became a priest. We embark on our city tour highlighting places visited by the Holy Father in his youth. See the Stone Bridge, St. Peter’s Cathedral, the University area, the Castle, and more. We will celebrate Mass at the Regensburg Cathedral. Afterward, you can return to the ship for lunch or choose to stay in the city to enjoy lunch on your own. Tonight, enjoy an authentic Bavarian evening on the ship, followed by the Captain’s farewell gala and dinner.

This morning we will enjoy our final breakfast on board the ship. With our bags packed, we will disembark and take a tour through the historic city, famous as the epicenter of the Nazi regime. We will visit sites such as Congress Hall, Luitpold Arena, Great Street, and historic old town as we learn about the birth of the Third Reich empire. Following lunch on your own, we depart for Prague. Dinner & overnight accommodations will be in Prague.

Enjoy your day in the unique Bohemian city of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. We will celebrate Mass at Our Lady of Victorious, where we will see the Infant Jesus of Prague. Next, we will take a walking tour of the Loreto Sanctuary, a lavish Baroque pilgrimage site and home of the Santa Casa, a replica of Mary’s house. Our visit also includes the cloister and the treasury. Next, we will visit St. Vitus Cathedral and the Basilica of St. George, the oldest church in Prague. This afternoon, you will have time to explore Old Town Prague, including the Church of St. Nicholas and the Manes Bridge. Lunch is on your own. Tonight, we will have a fun and festive farewell dinner in a local beer hall. Overnight in Prague.

We will have breakfast this morning and head to the airport to catch our flight home.
