ITINERARY
DAY 1 – DEPART FOR ROME
(07/27) Today, you will board your international overnight flight to Rome. Relax and enjoy the journey across the Atlantic as you anticipate the incredible spiritual experience ahead.
DAY 2 – ARRIVAL IN ROME / ORVIETO / ASSISI
(07/28) Upon arrival in Rome, you will meet your professional tour guide and depart for Orvieto. We will visit the magnificent Orvieto Cathedral, famous for its Eucharistic Miracle and stunning Gothic façade. Afterward, we will continue to Assisi, check into our hotel for the evening, and have dinner.
DAY 3 – ASSISI
(07/29) This morning’s tour of Assisi begins at the Basilica of St. Francis, where we will celebrate Mass. We’ll continue to the Church of St. Clare, and the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, home to the Porziuncola. After time for prayer and reflection, we’ll have dinner at a local restaurant and return to our hotel.
DAY 4 –SIENA
(07/30) Today, we travel to Siena in the heart of Italy’s Tuscany region. Here, we will view the city’s incredible Romanesque-Gothic cathedral, which was completed in 1380. Next, we will visit the Sanctuary of St. Catherine of Siena, which houses the Miraculous Crucifix from which she received her stigmata. Afterward, we’ll walk the Piazza del Campo and see the Palazzo Pubblico and the Torre Del Mangia, two of the city’s architectural treasures. We’ll end our day viewing the incorrupt relics of St. Catherine of Siena at the Basilica of St. Dominic before returning to our hotel in Assisi for dinner.
DAY 5 – ASSISI / CASCIA / LORETO
(07/31) This morning, we will depart for Cascia to visit the Basilica of St. Rita. Afterward, our journey brings us to Loreto and the Basilica of the Holy House, where we will see the Holy House of Nazareth. After our visit, we will check into our hotel and settle in before dinner.
DAY 6 – LORETO / MANOPELLO / LANCIANO / SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO
(08/01) This morning, we have an early departure for Manoppello to visit the shrine of the Holy Face. This modest basilica houses a curious image of Christ’s face. Depending on the light, it is sometimes visible and sometimes transparent. Next, we continue to Lanciano, where we will visit the Church of the Eucharistic Miracle. Mass will be celebrated before continuing to San Giovanni Rotondo. Upon arrival, we will check into our hotel and have dinner.
DAY 7 – SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO / MONTE SANT’ANGELO
(08/02) This morning, we will visit the Old Church to celebrate Mass. Afterward, we will take a tour of the sanctuary, which includes the crucifix where St. Pio received the stigmata, as well as the confessional where he spent countless hours listening to confessions. Next, you will board the bus and travel along the beautiful Gargano Peninsula to the Grotto of St. Michael the Archangel. Following the visit, we will return to San Giovanni Rotondo for the evening and have dinner at our hotel.
DAY 8 – SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO / MONTECASSINO / ROME
(08/03) This morning, we depart our hotel for Montecassino, where we will visit the Abbey founded by St. Benedict in 529 AD. We will celebrate Mass before continuing our journey to Rome, where we will check into our hotel for the evening and have dinner.
DAY 9 – ROME
(08/04) This morning, we will attend the Papal Audience with Pope Leo XIV in St. Peter’s Square! After the audience, we will tour the magnificent St. Peter’s Basilica, the epicenter of Catholicism. Our guided tour will also include the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. This afternoon is free for personal prayer or leisure activities. We will return to our hotel later for dinner.
DAY 10 – ROME
(08/05) The day will start with a Mass, followed by a visit to the Basilica of St. Mary Major. Next, we will explore St. John Lateran, Rome’s oldest basilica, followed by the Holy Stairs. This afternoon, enjoy a panoramic city tour that includes exterior views of the Pantheon, Piazza Venezia, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and Piazza Navona. After another exciting day in Rome, we will return to our hotel for dinner.
DAY 11 – ROME
(08/06) In the morning, we will visit the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, where Mass will be celebrated. After Mass, there will be a guided tour of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. You’ll then have free time to enjoy your last afternoon in the Eternal City. Tonight, we will have a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
DAY 12 – RETURN HOME
(08/07) We will transfer to the airport this morning for our return flight home.
