George Snyder Jr. of St. Clare Catholic Church in Roseville, California, on a 14-day Catholic Marian Shrines Pilgrimage of Peace and Hope through some of Europe’s most beloved sacred destinations. This spiritually enriching journey invites pilgrims to deepen their faith while visiting renowned Marian sites in Barcelona, Montserrat, Zaragoza, Madrid, Lourdes, and Fatima—places where the Blessed Virgin Mary has inspired devotion, healing, and renewal for generations. Through daily Mass, prayer, and reflection, pilgrims will encounter the profound message of peace and hope at each shrine, while also experiencing the rich history, culture, and beauty of Spain and Portugal. This pilgrimage offers a meaningful opportunity for spiritual growth, fellowship, and a renewed connection to the heart of the Catholic faith.
ITINERARY
DAY 1 – DEPARTURE: USA → BARCELONA
Your pilgrimage begins! Depart on an overnight flight to Barcelona, Spain, where an unforgettable spiritual journey awaits.
DAY 2 – ARRIVE IN BARCELONA
Welcome to Barcelona! Meet your tour manager, enjoy lunch, and transfer to your hotel. Time permitting, attend Mass and take in a panoramic introduction to the city. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 3 – BARCELONA
Explore Barcelona’s spiritual and cultural treasures, including La Sagrada Familia and the Cathedral of St. Eulalia. Discover Santa Maria del Mar, the Gothic Quarter, and vibrant city squares. Mass at La Sagrada Familia (subject to confirmation). Overnight in Barcelona.
DAY 4 – MONTSERRAT → LOURDES
Travel to Montserrat to visit the revered Shrine of Our Lady and venerate the Black Madonna. Continue through the Pyrenees to Lourdes. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 5 – LOURDES
Discover the sacred sites of Lourdes, including the Grotto of the Apparitions, Basilica of St. Pius X, Boly Mill, and the Soubirous family home. Celebrate Mass and join the evening candlelight procession. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 6 – LOURDES
Enjoy a day for personal reflection, prayer, or exploration. Participate in Mass and the evening rosary and candlelight procession. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 7 – LOURDES → ZARAGOZA
Journey to Zaragoza for a guided city tour and visit the magnificent Basilica del Pilar. Celebrate Mass and enjoy free time before dinner and overnight.
DAY 8 – ZARAGOZA → MADRID
Travel to Madrid and enjoy a guided tour featuring Buen Retiro Park, Gran Vía, Plaza de España, and Puerta de Alcalá. Celebrate Mass at Almudena Cathedral. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 9 – MADRID → TOLEDO → SALAMANCA
Visit historic Toledo, stroll its cobblestone streets, and celebrate Mass at its cathedral. Continue to Salamanca for dinner and overnight.
DAY 10 – SALAMANCA → PORTO
Explore Salamanca’s Old and New Cathedrals and Plaza Mayor. Continue to Porto for a city tour, including the Cathedral and St. Francis Church. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 11 – COIMBRA → FATIMA
Visit Coimbra and the convent of Sister Lucia. Continue to Fatima to visit the Chapel of the Apparitions, basilica, and shepherds’ homes. Celebrate Mass and join the evening candlelight procession. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 12 – FATIMA
Celebrate Mass and enjoy free time for prayer and reflection. Evening candlelight procession. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 13 – FATIMA → LISBON
Travel to Lisbon and visit the birthplace of St. Anthony. Enjoy a panoramic city tour, including views of the Tower of Belém and Discoveries Monument. Farewell dinner and overnight.
DAY 14 – RETURN HOME
Transfer to the airport for your return flight, carrying home memories of a deeply enriching pilgrimage.
