DAILY ITINERARY
DAY 1: FLIGHT TO BARCELONA
Today, you will depart on your international flight to Barcelona, Spain.
DAY 2: ARRIVAL IN BARCELONA
Upon arrival in Barcelona, you will meet your tour manager and proceed to your first stop of the day, the Sagrada Família. We will also explore the Gothic Quarter and celebrate Mass before checking into our hotel to relax before tonight’s group dinner.
DAY 3: MONTSERRAT – ZARAGOZA
This morning, we depart Barcelona for Montserrat, where we will visit its beautiful Benedictine monastery and admire the iconic Black Madonna. Mass will be celebrated before we leave for Zaragoza. Upon arrival, we will check into our hotel for the evening.
DAY 4: ZARAGOZA – AVILA
Today, we’ll visit the breathtaking Basilica del Pilar and come together to celebrate Mass. Afterward, we continue our journey to Ávila, celebrated as the City of Kings and Saints, and the birthplace of St. Teresa. We will check into your hotel, enjoy dinner, and have a restful night.
DAY 5: AVILA – PALAS DE REI
Today, we will stroll through Avila’s charming cobblestone streets, following in the footsteps of St. Teresa. We’ll visit the historic Monastery of the Incarnation and the Convent of St. Teresa, where her spirit enchants all who visit. Together, we’ll celebrate Mass before continuing to Palas de Rei, where we will enjoy dinner at our hotel.
DAY 6: PALAS DE REI – MELIDE
This morning, we’ll enjoy a pleasant walk (approximately 9 miles), discovering local customs, meeting fellow pilgrims, and immersing ourselves in the unique atmosphere of the Camino. Our pilgrimage continues in Melide, which is known for serving the best pulpo (octopus!) in Glacia. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at your hotel.
DAY 7: MELIDE – ARZUA
Today, discover local traditions, rewarding yourself with good food after a day of hiking in Galicia’s peaceful, green countryside. Today’s mileage is approximately 8 miles. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be in Arzua.
DAY 8: ARZUA – O PEDROUZO
Enjoy the green rolling landscape of Galicia on today’s 14-mile walk to Amenal. Today, the path becomes gentler. Enjoy this time off from your busy life and reflect on your journey while interacting with fellow pilgrims. Dinner and overnight in O Pedrouzo.
DAY 9: O PEDROUZO – SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
This will be your final leg into Santiago de Compostela. Climb up into Monte do Gozo (Mount of Joy) and take in the stunning views before entering the medieval town. Once in Santiago, we will attend the Pilgrim’s Mass and witness the famous swinging Botafumeiro ritual. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at your hotel.
DAY 10: SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
Today, we will visit the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, the final resting place of St. James. We’ll also see the churches of San Francisco and Santa Clara, the Bell Tower, and other sites throughout the city. Afterward, we’ll return to your hotel for dinner.
DAY 11: SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA – MADRID
This morning, we will transfer to the airport to catch our flight (or train) to Madrid. Upon arrival, we’ll explore Madrid’s charm with a guided tour of the city’s iconic spots! We’ll visit Buen Retiro Park, Gran Via, Plaza de España, and the stunning Puerta de Alcalá. We’ll also celebrate Mass at Almudena Cathedral. Tonight, we’ll have a farewell dinner at a local restaurant before settling into our hotel for the evening.
DAY 12: RETURN FLIGHT HOME
We’ll transfer to the airport this morning to catch our return flight home.
