Nativity Pilgrimage Donates the Largest Christmas Tree in Bethlehem’s History

A Celebration of Hope Returns to the Holy Land

We are overjoyed to share truly uplifting news from the Holy Land. For the first time since December 2022—and after nearly three and a half years without a major public celebration—the city of Bethlehem has once again rejoiced with the lighting of a magnificent 65-foot Christmas tree in Manger Square. This year’s celebration was historic, marking the largest Christmas gathering in the Holy Land in recent memory. More than 30,000 people filled the square—local Christians, diplomats, officials, and thousands of pilgrims—joining together in a joyful festival that illuminated the birthplace of Our Lord with hope, unity, and renewed spirit.

We are humbled and honored that we could donate this year’s Christmas tree, the largest ever to stand in Bethlehem. After two years of conflict and hardship in the Middle East, especially the devastating events in Gaza, we felt a deep responsibility to help rekindle joy in the city where our own roots and heritage run so deeply. The lighting ceremony on December 6 was extraordinary. Bethlehem shone brightly as children sang, families celebrated, and the world witnessed a powerful expression of resilience and faith. While the number of pilgrims remains lower than in pre-war years, those who arrived during Advent expressed profound gratitude for the opportunity to stand in the birthplace of Jesus during such a meaningful moment.

Bethlehem Christmas 4

At Nativity Pilgrimage, our mission has always been to strengthen spiritual connection and support the Christian communities who welcome our pilgrims with such warmth. As authorities continue working to preserve the Christian presence at our sacred sites, we are blessed to stand with them in restoring traditions that inspire hope. We pray that this beautiful celebration brings peace to the Holy Land and comfort to all who long for healing. With improved conditions and renewed international support, we look forward with great optimism to welcoming pilgrims back to Bethlehem in the coming year.

May the light of the Bethlehem Christmas Tree shine upon you and your families as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior.
