5-DAY SHRINES OF MEXICO

PILGRIMAGE

ABOUT YOUR TRIP

Our Lady of Guadalupe, also known as the Virgin of Guadalupe, is a Roman Catholic title of the Blessed Virgin Mary associated with a venerated image enshrined within the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. The basilica is the most visited Catholic pilgrimage site in the world.

A pilgrimage to Mexico is a great way to experience the vibrant culture of our neighboring country and strengthen your faith. On this memorable trip, you will celebrate mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe and see the sackcloth of Juan Diego bearing the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe that hangs above the main altar. Other common sites include the Pyramids of Teotihuacan and Chapultepec Park, where you can see collections of ancient Mayan civilization.

Under Nativity’s excellent organization and leadership, our pilgrimages offer complete itineraries that include round-trip airfare, first-class hotel accommodations, breakfast, dinner, all transportation, daily Masses, and more!

Today: After breakfast, we will visit the Church of the 5th Apparition, where the Blessed Virgin Maria de Guadalupe appeared to Juan Bernardino. Here, we will find a well of healing water that locals drink from. Our next stop is the Plaza of the Three Cultures, which symbolizes the unique blend of pre-Hispanic and Hispanic cultures that make up Mexico. Next, we will marvel at the brilliantly colored Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe and celebrate Mass. Following Mass, you will join the other pilgrims kneeling before the “Tilma,” where Our Lady’s image was miraculously imprinted. We will have a guided tour of the Basilica and time for prayers and confessions. After lunch, we will meet with the experts on the Virgin of Guadalupe close to the Basilica, who will tell us more about the Guadalupana, Her history, Her miracles, and Her apparitions. Afterward, we will have time to ask questions and pray together. Tonight’s dinner will be at a nice restaurant with Mariachi entertainment.

Evening: Overnight accommodations will be at your hotel.

Today: After breakfast, we will celebrate Mass at the Holy Family Church, where you will view the tomb of Fr. Miguel Agustin Pro, the Jesuit martyr. We will also visit the museum dedicated to him. Afterward, we’ll proceed to the historical center, where you will see the oldest and largest cathedral in all of Latin America, the Metropolitan Cathedral. Next, we will approach the extraordinary National Palace, which has been a building of the ruling class of Mexico since the Aztec Empire’s rule. We will then continue to the Plaza of Santo Domingo, which contains two Holy places that are architecturally exquisite: the Church of Santo Domingo (the first church built by the Dominicans in 1576) and the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary (the first Rosary Shrine in Mexico). Afterward, we will visit the Shrine of Our Lady of Covadonga, the headquarters of the Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary.
