Start in Medjugorje where it is reported the Blessed Mother of God has been appearing since 1981. A shrine of peace and reconciliation. When you sail to Italy across the beautiful Adriatic you will find St. Catherine in Siena, well actually her head and finger, the rest of her body rests in Rome.  Enjoy the Umbrian countryside on the way to Assisi, the final resting place of St. Francis and St. Clare.  The Eternal City of Rome awaits you with all the treasures of Art, wine, and pasta.

ITINERARY

Today: Your pilgrimage begins today as you depart on your overnight flight to Dubrovnik. Meals and drinks served aloft.

Today: We arrive in Dubrovnik. We travel from the airport to Medjugorje. Check in at your hotel, relax and settle in. Spend your evening meal and getting acquainted with your fellow pilgrims.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at your hotel.

Today: While in Medjugorje, you will have the opportunity to experience your faith grow and share in the faith journey of pilgrims from all over the world. Attend Mass. Climb Apparition Hill: This mountainous hill is where the visionaries first encountered Our Lady. Also, at the base of this hill is a Blue Cross, where it is said Our Lady appeared to the children while they hid from the communist police in the early days of the alleged apparitions.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at your hotel.

Today: We will go on a tour in Medjugorje, enjoy the scenery as you make your way to the Split in Croatia. Depart for Ancona in Italy by an overnight ferry. Meals will be served on board. Upon arrival you will be greeted by a tour guide and/or driver.

Evening: Overnight accommodations will be on the ferry.

Today: We arrive in Ancona, Italy. You will be greeted by a tour guide and driver. Drive to Assisi. We will visit St. Mary of the Angels Basilica, site of the Porziuncola, the tiny church in the woods where St. Francis began his ministry and where St. Clare began her religious life. We will celebrate Mass at the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi and view many of his personal possessions. The crucifix that spoke to him, asking him, “Rebuild my Church.” We visit the chapel where St. Francis spent most of his time as well as the Church of St. Clare, where her relics are housed. The rest of the day is for shopping or relaxing.

Today: In the morning, we head to Siena and view the city’s Romanesque- Gothic cathedral that was completed in 1380. The Sanctuary of St. Catherine of Siena houses the Miraculous Crucifix from which she received her stigmata. We walk the shell shaped Piazza del Campo town square which houses the Palazza Pubblico and the Torre Del Mangia two of their many architectural treasures. We continue on to see the incorrupt relics of St. Catherine of Siena at the Basilica of St. Dominic. Return to Rome in the evening.

Today: This morning, we start our day celebrating Mass at the Basilica of St. Cecelia in Trastevere.  The basilica and convent are built over the home of St. Cecelia who was martyred in the 3rd. century. Visit the catacombs of St. Callixtus which is among the greatest and most important in Rome. Travel to St. Paul Outside the Walls where the body of St. Paul is buried. Visit the Trevi Fountain where a coin thrown over your shoulder will guarantee you another visit to Rome. We then stop for lunch. The afternoon is free for shopping, relaxing or touring additional city sites.

Today: We begin our walking tour of Rome. Starting at the Piazza Venezia we will walk to some of Rome’s most famous sights like the Capitoline Hill, the Roman Forum and the Pantheon. Visit the Capitoline Museums and view one of Italy’s finest collection of classical sculptures. We walk to the Basilica of St. Mary of the Altar of Heaven (Sancta Maria de AracoeliIt which is the designated Church of the city council of Rome. Walk past the Mamertine Prison where St. Peter and Paul were held before their executions. Walk to the Via dei Fori Imperiali where we have an opportunity to tour the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Arch of Constantine. After lunch, we visit The Basilica di San Clemente (Basilica of St. Clement) an early Christian basilica in Rome dedicated to Pope St. Clement. Visit the Basilica of San Gregorio Magno al Celio (St. Gregory the Great) which is part of a monastery of monks of the Camaldolese branch of the Benedictine Order We stop at Mother Teresa convent for a short prayer and make a donation.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at your hotel.

Today: Visit the Basilica of Santa Croce in Jerusalem one of the Seven Pilgrimage Churches of Rome. It houses the relics of the Passion of Jesus Christ. From here, we visit the Scala Sancta, the stairs Christ climbed to stand before Pontius Pilate. Those who wish may climb the stairs, as is the custom, on their knees. We stop for lunch and free time for shopping. In the late afternoon, we traveling to the Basilica of St. Mary Major, the largest church in Rome dedicated to the Blessed Mother. It is a Papal major basilica and the largest Catholic Marian Church in Rome. It contains a relic from the manager. A few steps away from St. Mary Major is Santa Prassede. It is a 9th-century basilica that has a piece of the scourging column of Christ.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at your hotel.

Today: In the morning, attend Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica.  We then attend a general papal audience with Pope Francis. After the audience, we tour the Vatican-Museums to see centuries of beautiful artwork and artifacts. See the artwork of Michelangelo such as the Pieta and then visit the Sistine Chapel. Lunch is at the Vatican Museum. In the afternoon, tour the Scavi excavations, the necropolis underneath St. Peter’s Basilica where tomb of St. Peter is located. We then tour the interior of the Basilica. End our day on a visit to the Tomb of St. John Paul II in St. Sebastian’s Chapel.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at your hotel.

Today: Day at leisure for personal activities in Rome.

Today: This morning we will transfer to the airport to catch our return flight home.
