Embark on a captivating 12-day Eastern Europe pilgrimage, tracing the footsteps of saints and exploring the spiritual heritage of Warsaw, Krakow, Vienna, and Budapest. You will leave this pilgrimage with a heart filled with renewed faith and a profound connection to the Catholic heritage of Eastern Europe.

We offer a complete itinerary that includes round-trip airfare, first-class hotel accommodations, daily breakfast and dinner, all transportation, and daily Masses, all under Nativity’s excellent organization and leadership.

ITINERARY

Today: Your pilgrimage begins as you depart on your overnight flight to Warsaw. Meals and drinks are served in-flight.

Today: Arrive in Warsaw. You are met and transferred to your hotel when you arrive in Warsaw. Afternoon sightseeing in Poland’s capital includes the Old Town, Market Place, Lazienska Park, Chopin Monument, St. Stanislaw Kostka Church, the 14th-century Cathedral of St. John, and Royal Castle, the residence of the Polish King.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at your hotel.

Today: You start early this morning to visit Niepokolanow, the home of St. Maximilian Kolbe. Continue to Glogowiec, the birthplace of Sr. Faustina, where Jesus appeared to her in 1931 and requested she paint the picture of His Divine Mercy. We will continue to your hotel in Lodz.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at your hotel.

Today: Today’s journey takes you to Jasna Gora near Czectochwa, the monastery that withstood the repeated onslaught of overwhelming Swedish forces during the religious wars of the 17th century. Since then, its Black Madonna has been venerated as the “Queen of Poland” and has become the country’s national symbol. Visit the Pauline Monastery with its priceless treasures, including the Miraculous Icon. Stop to see the Nazi concentration camp of Auschwitz. After seeing the cells of St. Maximilian Kolbe, we will continue to Krakow.

oday: You will have a tour of ancient Krakow, the residence of the Polish kings for centuries. See the Market Square, the 14th Century University, Wawel Royal Castle, St. Mary’s Church, and the Shrine of Sr. Faustina. In the afternoon, drive to the Wieliczka Salt Mines, Europe’s oldest and longest mine. We explore the chambers of the Blessed Kings and St. Anthony of the Holy Cross. We visit the spectacular cathedral, where everything is carved from salt, including the gigantic chandeliers. Tour the chapels and chambers cut out of salt. Return to Krakow.

Today: In the morning, we visit the Divine Mercy Shrine in Łagiewniki, where Saint Faustina lived and passed away. Celebrate mass at the Chapel of Relics. Continue to Wadowice, the birthplace of Pope John Paul II. Depart for the Czech capital of Prague. Upon arrival, you will understand why the “Golden City” is considered one of Europe’s most attractive capitals.

Today: This morning’s sightseeing tour of Prague includes a walking tour of the Castle area, including the St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George Basilica, Loretto Church, Strahov Monastery, and Wenceslaus Square. This afternoon, you see the Old Town, St. Nicholas Church, and the famous Astronomic Clock. Celebrate Mass at the Church of our Lady of Victory, where you will see the statue of the Infant Jesus in Prague.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at your hotel.

Today: You depart for Austria and Vienna’s majestic Old World city. En route, stop for Mass at the baroque Melk Abbey, the most beautiful in Austria, where you see the glorious gardens, Emperor’s gallery, marble hall, and library.

Today: We tour the city strolling along the charming squares and medieval streets while you learn the rich history and culture behind Austria’s capital, the Vienna Opera House. See Heroes’ Square, St Augustine’s Church, St Stephen’s Cathedral, and Mozart’s only surviving Viennese residence. Tour close to Naschmarkt, one of the city’s most popular and impressive markets, and the opulent Hofburg Palace.

Today: Travel to Salzburg. We make a stop in Styria to visit Mariazell Basilica. It was built between the 14th – 15th centuries. It has Baroque interiors and is the home for “The Magna Mater Austria” (Mary Mother of Austria), to which many Catholic Austrians pay great devotion. Continue to Salzburg.

Evening: Continue to your hotel in Budapest for dinner and overnight.

Today: Along with the Sound of Music, Salzburg is famous for being the birthplace of Amadeus Mozart, one of the world’s greatest composers. We visit the Cathedral and the home of Mozart. Take off through the city, with the film’s soundtrack of the “Sound of Music” as you pass famous locations featured in the movie. Marvel at the city’s architecture and see the Lake District, one of the most impressive regions in the heart of Austria. Continue to the charming town of Mondsee, where you will have free time to explore the setting of the film’s wedding at the Mondsee Cathedral. Wander the streets at your leisure, stopping for a delicious slice of crisp apple strudel or perusing the local shops.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at your hotel.

Today: Travel to Munich. We will have a panoramic view of exciting places like the Allianz Arena upon arrival. Stop for a nice lunch at Marienplatz, a Medieval public square in the heart of Munich; since its construction, it has been the site of tournaments, executions, and markets (the fresh produce market moved to nearby. Continue to visit the twin-towered Frauenkirche (the Church of Our Lady), which serves as the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Munich. The Cathedral is widely considered a symbol of Munich. The church’s construction began in 1468 on a former 13th-century site. After you’re free for more enjoyment of the area, please continue to your hotel for registration—free time at your leisure.

Today: This morning we will transfer to the airport to catch our return flight home.
