1

DEPARTURE USA / ROME

Today: Your pilgrimage begins today boarding your flight to Rome. Meals and drinks served aloft.

ROME

Today: Arrival in Rome. Visit the Minor Basilica of Saint Lawrence Outside the Walls. It is one of the seven station (pilgrim) churches of Rome. Visit the Basilica of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem: Perhaps the most famous of the relics enshrined at Santa Croce in Gerusalemme in the Chapel of the Holy Relics are three fragments from the True Cross, one nail used in the crucifixion, and small pieces of the scourging pillar, the Holy Sepulchre and the tomb of Jesus. It also contains a reliquary of two of the thorns in the crown of thorns.

ROME / VATICAN

Today: We will see the Vatican Museums, and the Sistine Chapel (the Pope’s private Chapel) and visit St. Peter’s in the Vatican, the largest Basilica in the world. Long pants, capris, or skirts below the knee, shoulders covered. Visit Castel Sant’ Angelo where in the year 590, while a great epidemic of plague devastated the city, the Pope Gregory I had a vision of Saint Michael the Archangel on top of the castle, announcing the end of the epidemic as they processed with an icon painted by St. Luke. In memory of the apparition the building is crowned with a statue of St. Michael the Archangel. Visit the Basilica of Saint Bartholomew. Dedicated to Saint Bartholomew the Apostle and the martyr Adalbert. The Basilica of Saint Bartholomew contains many works of art. In addition to the two martyrs mentioned above, it contains relics of modern martyrs for the Faith from Mexico, Poland, etc.

ROME

Today: We will leave to the Vatican to experience the Audience with the Pope. We will see the Pope very closely. In the afternoon, we drive along the Ancient Appian way to see the Church of Domine Quo Vadis, which is located the spot where tradition says Saint Peter had a vision of the risen Christ while fleeing persecution in Rome. He convinced Peter to turn around and face crucifixion himself in Rome. Christ gave him the courage to follow him to martyrdom, as foretold in the Gospels. We then return to the city center, and stop at the Church of St. Peter in Chains, which contains the statue of Moses by Michelangelo. Visit the Museum of the Holy Souls in Purgatory which is inside the Sacro Cuore di Gesù in Prati, Church of the Sacred Heart

ROME

Today: A tour of the Scavi – the Roman Necropolis which underlies St. Peter’s Basilica, which were secretly excavated by Pope Pius XII in order to locate the bones of St. Peter. A tour of the Mosaic Studio in the Vatican which maintains the mosaics in St. Peter’s and creates new works. Visit Tre Fontane, where St. Paul was beheaded and three springs arose where his head bounced. Across the street, we will visit the Shrine of the Virgin of Revelation.

ROME / ORVIETO / PERUGIA / ASSISI

Today: En route to Assisi stop in Orvieto. Our tour will include the cathedral and Eucharistic miracle. Make a stop in Perugia for a visit at Perugia Cathedral which houses the Holy Ring, the relic of the wedding ring of the Holy Virgin. Then continue on to Assisi.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at your hotel.

ASSISI 

Today: Spend a full day in Assisi taking in the tranquility of the mountain village. See the tombs of St. Francis and St. Clare; enjoy a peaceful walk on the streets of Assisi. Visit the upper and lower Basilicas of St. Francis, the Basilica of St. Clare, and the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, at the foothills of Assisi’s. Visit the hermitage up the mountain and have mass.

ASSISI / CASCIA / MONTEFALCO / FOLIGNO / ASSISI

Today: Drive to visit Cascia at the basilica to view the incorrupt body of St. Rita and the Eucharistic miracle of Cascia. Stop at Montefalco to view the body (formally incorruptible) of St. Clare of Moontefalco crypt of The Basilica of St. Clare and her incorrupt heart in the Church of Saint Augustine. She is the patroness of those with heart illness. On the way back to Assisi we stop at Foligno to visit the incorrupt body of Saint Angela of Foligno.

ASSISI / LORETO / MANOPPELO / LANCIANO / MONTE SANT’ANGELO

Today: After breakfast, depart from Assisi. Our first stop is in Loreto where we will tour the sanctuary and Holy House. After lunch to Manoppello the site of the Holy Face (Veronica’s Veil) then we will go on to Lanciano where we will visit St Francis’ church and the sanctuary of the Eucharistic Miracle. Dinner and proceed to Monte Sant’ Angelo.

MONTE SANT’ANGELO

Today: We will tour Monte Sant’ Angelo where St. Michael the Archangel appeared in 490, 492, and 1656, visit the Devotional Museum, etc. St. Francis of Assisi spent 30 days praying at the entrance of the cave and then felt he was not worthy to enter so he carved a tau.

Evening: Dinner and overnight at Monte Sant’ Angelo. Staying at The Pilgrim’s Guest.

SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO / BASILICHE E SANTUARI GROTTA DI SAN MICHELE / MONTE SANT’ANGELO

Today: This morning we will visit San Giovanni Rotondo with visits to the old church, Santa Maria delle Grazie, the Friary of Padre Pio, his tomb, cell, confessional, and we end the morning with the new church, the Padre Pio Pilgrimage Church. The nearby Basiliche e santuari Grotta di San Michele, a few steps from the Lake of Varano. This is another cave where St. Michael appeared and left a miraculous spring of water. This cave was also visited by Padre Pio and St. Francis of Assisi, and the cave was inhabited since the Paleolithic era.

Evening: Dinner and overnight at Monte Sant’ Angelo. Staying at The Pilgrim’s Guest.

MONTE SANT’ANGELO / MONTE CASSINO / ROME

Today: After breakfast depart Monte Sant’ Angelo. As we head back towards Rome our first stop will be Pietrelcina. This is the birthplace of Padre Pio. We proceed to the Sanctuary of Saint Lucia which is located in Sassinoro in the Province of Benevento where St. Michael and St. Lucia appeared in 1600 to shepherds who discovered the cave when their sheep would mysteriously disappear. The shepherds returned after a few days in the cave and they found depictions of two saints engraved in rock. After a tour and time for lunch, we will continue on to Monte Cassino where we will visit the Abbey and Monastery, the motherhouse of St. Benedict and the Benedictines. Finally, we will continue on to Rome.

Today: This morning we will transfer to the airport to catch our return flight home.

THE TOUR PRICE INCLUDES

Air Transportation Economy classes and Round Trip airfares are based at the time of the reservation, Rates and Times are subject to change without notice.

Airfares once issued ARE NON-REFUNDABLE, NON –TRANSFERABLE AND

CAN’T BE USED TOWARDS FUTURE TRAVEL.

Land Transportation. All land transportation as describe in the itinerary will be by Deluxe Motor Coach, some may be equipped with WI-FI service.

Hotels. First class Hotels (Hotel rooms are double occupancy (2 people per

room with private bath).

Porterage at the hotels.

Single Room. There is an additional cost per person specified on registration form. Single rooms are limited and will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.

Meal Plan. The meal plan offers 2 meals per day and consists of both breakfast and dinner. You are responsible for your lunch.

Baggage. Nativity Pilgrimage limits all passengers to 1 piece of checked luggage and 1 carry-on. (All passengers should check with the airlines carriers for up to date baggage weight and dimensions).

Airport Taxes, Fuel Surcharges and Security Fees.

Expenses for passports or any additional documents that may be required. Personal Articles Laundry, wines, liquors, mineral water, tea, coffee and other beverages, food that is not on the menus of your included meal package, and any additional luggage. Any sightseeing, other services, or personal items that are not specifically mentioned as being included in the itinerary.

A non-refundable deposit of $300.00 per person is required at time of booking. No reservation will be processed without a deposit. Final payment is due 90 days prior to your departure date. Registrations received late within 60 days of departure will require Payment In Full. No deposits will be accepted at this time. We do not accept payments by credit card for deposits.
